For $200 how far wrong can you go. What year is the Van???
Thanks Kevin,I'll keep it in mind.
For now I may pull the pan & take a look at it & see what ditched in it.
Its a project van for sure,So we'll see what happens.The RS is a 90.

Hey Sanj. Nice score. Let’s build it a nasty V8!! :supz:
I mean really sick. Like only to be driven 1/4 mile at a time if you get my drift. Oh drift, we could do that too.
If you want I can make some calls and see who has a 350 kicking around. I mean if it is a project van why do all the work of putting in a new engine that only has 6 cylinders? It just doesn't seem right.

Happy to be a bad influence.

Just found a complete running 454! It is in a buddy’s storage locker and he wants it out by the end of March. Should be cheap if not FREE!! :muhaha:

I can't wait to get this van on the road! I cleaned it up a little yesterday! The dash needs to be replaced, the side pockets and the clove box needs to be replaced: the carpet, the bumpers, and with a wax and some touch up paint, this van will be looking new :D I'm really glad we saved it!

Good score! I went to look at one, but it was rusted out in the rockers and too far gone for me to restore. How is the rust on your new van? That 454 swap sounds like fun! Mission raceway is calling your name!

Ooooh, a 454.
I just know an engine that size in my van would do for me what puberty never did...

Theres no rust on it. But I did notice something very interesting; on the slider there is a dint that comes from the inside out. The wierd thing is my blue Astro has the exact same bump on the exact same spot. And both bumps are very small but it was enough to crack the paint. So I don't know if this is just fluke or a factory error?? Anyone else have this?

Hey, if you scrap out the motor I would like the camsaft btw. I know it's a bit of work, but it's not a typical LB4 camshaft. That is provided it's not chewed to a hunk of junk.

I still have to pull the motor out & do a quick teardown.I'll get around to it soon.
The van is a perfect candidate for a resto/streeter.
Here's some better pics.
