My ProComp lug nuts arrived today. They are flatter in color than I thought they would be, more like satin:
They look like they are just painted steel, not plated. They are also not black oxide like you might hope when you pay $50 for black lug nuts. I'll hit them with the spray can once they are on.....in a few months
With a holed roof it's a good thing you're in L.A. and not Daytona. I'm watching the SX and it looks like a mud bog, what I can see on TV through the rain.

Did the Rufus/ LT shuffle so I could get the van in the shop.Got the back of the van on jack stands so I could get off the only yr old tires.Kind of a pita that I have to swap two tires off those rims onto two rims from Rufus and then the two tires from Rufus onto the Astro rims.Dumb Bass GM with mixed bolt patterns. ](*,) Cut off the cad off the Lt to turn it in on Sunday.Got the pin out of the class III receiver, but it ant looking good to get the hitch out.Rusted pretty badly. No torches on hand.Might try to cut each side/split the receiver open.

Today, the boys and I hit the slopes with the van. Starting to get baseline info for what we need to bring etc. First off, I need to bring more food! Didn't know how many "friends" I had til the marinated venison sirlion hit the grill! Met 5 other families there and we chowed down. Skiing wasn't too bad either. Stopped about 2pm though, because the snow got too funky in the 50+ degree heat. Couple pics for enjoyment:
Gotta love a sunny day with the kids!
Sometimes, I realize that I'm clueless...Man, I hate those moments!

We hit about 65 degrees here today.. So I washed the van... Took off the snow tires and put on the summers.. And noticed that they are almost bald at 5/32's.. So its tire shopping time.
Also found front bearings a touch loose too, tightened those up.
And for some reason, they now sell PiBB Xtra in Niagara Falls, NY so I got some of that yesterday! Been looking for a long time for it!
I spent a lot of the day taking stuff out of the 2000 LT I bought. Was going to try to make an El Camino out of it but desided to part it out instead. http://s296.photobucket.com/albums/mm17 ... ?start=all

I decided I want to use the radio antenna as my warning gauge for the rack height. I figured I'd get an antenna a few inches taller than the rack when mounted. This way I can watch out the window and see if I have clearance. I looked for taller radio antennas and I wasn't too happy with what I found. So I decided to go with a 3' CB radio antenna and I will use a AM/FM - CB tuner / antenna splitter. This will allow me to use a CB antenna for both AM/FM radio and CB. I ordered both 3' and 4' FireStik antennas with spring mounts, an antenna splitter and a stud mount that will take place of the current radio antenna mount.
I also came across these photos that I have not seen in a while....my van from a few years back:

Today, I polished the front and rear signals and marker lights and added a hood bra after washing and waxing the old girl. Looks pretty good, if I do say so myself. A work in progress.
