In need of replacement Body panels

Post by Roadstar01 »

My 2001 GMC Safari SLT suffers from rust right behind the sliding door "front of rear wheel well" I cannot find much in replacement panels for this area. I've seen other same vans same problem.
Also when I repair it. What can I do to reduce the chance of it returning same area?

Also both sides, Running board fiber glass skin rolls up to rocker panel. A long strip of thin metal with a bent down at the top edge is screwed into the rocker panel so the fiberglass opposite bend locks into the metal strip. Both sides are needing replaced. Anyone come up with innovated ways to fix his? The ones off salvaged donors have same problem.
My 2001 AWD Safari SLT has airlift bags on the rear suspension, transmission cooler, upgraded transmission and electric trailer brake controller. It earns it keep when not doing regular driving.
Pulls the 23 foot deep V Cobalt pleasure
Boat and pulls the car trailer for the
Midsize backhoe.
