Removing Under dash fuse box - 1997 Astro
I am trying to install a trailer brake controller. Directions say to plug the orange wire, from rear of vehicle, into the fuse box. To do that the box has to be removed because the connections are on the back side of the fuse box. How is the fuse box removed without tearing it up? Thanks for any replies.

Re: Removing Under dash fuse box - 1997 Astro
Upon closer examination ( with my 74 year old eyes) I found that the fuse box was affixed to the unit next to it with two slide in slots which were held together by a single nylon (factory installed) quick tie. After cutting it the fuse box, with some persuation, was able to slice straight out. Unfortunately there is no place to plug in the orange wire in the back of the fuse box. Think I am going to find a hot wire and install the orange wire with an, in-line fuse. Problem solved. I have no idea how the instructions could simply say: "plug the orange wire into the fuse box".

Thanks again for the reply and suggestion of an in-line fuse tap.
