Carburetor ID??

I need help to ID the carb on my '69.

I don't drive on the salted roads in winter so I start the engine, bring it up to temp every couple weeks and this weekend I had a massive fuel leak.
I've been told it s likely a stuck float and that it would be either a Rochester or Carter but only found a chevy bowtie w/ Bay City in the emblem.
In a google search for a rebuild kit "1969 G10 carburetor" I found this on fleabay, if my understanding is correct I have a 292 6 cyl, would this be the right carb?

Don't know how much faith I'd put in a "universal" carb but for $100 it is attractive.

Rockauto does have parts for the 1969 G10, including carburetors. However, I don't see a 292ci engine option. There are two straight 6's: a 230 and a 250.

Carbs are a bit out of my comfort zone, so here's advice from somebody who experienced them.

I love the way you sit in the earlies.
Brings back memories, my teens through my early 20's sixties vans were common in the crew, my first was a '70 econonoline camper I kept until it rusted away.
She's a bear to drive, power nothing, someone did a fast paint to sell. There is bondo and rust, every door needs metal on the bottom, front valence is aluminum and bondo and I paid too much. Lol, I got a ton of parts, a '65 donor I've already cut up an stored away.

You are correct Joe, It is a Rochester Monojet. Someone told me where to find a number on it, stamped in the side against the doghouse, 7042014
Googled and ordered a rebuild kit from quadrajetparts.com.

Hi Everyone,

I had a 1979 Chevy G20 Beauville 8 passenger wagon. Two tone paint, green and white. I drove it for 17 years, then got a 1994 Chevy G20 Sport Wagon, also 8 passenger.
Sold it in 2001 and got 2003 AWD Astro later on in 2006.

After ordering the rebuild kit knowing I have parts on the way I followed a tip from vintage vans. I was able to crack it open and unstick the float, visual inspection tells me the float floats but I was unable to remove it w/o tearing the gasket. Put it back together and she fired right off. When I have the kit in hand and don't need the van I'll tear into it. I'm in the process of an oil pan gasket on my '93 so the '69 is needed now for daily duty.

Joe, that's pretty cool linking up w/ Scotty Kilmer. He irritates some with his persona on youtube but I've always found his advice legit. His channel was one of my first subscriptions.

AP, yeah, I had an '87 Beauville too, lame 305, sold it in the parking lot of home steepo for $500, at the time that was very close to scrap value.

Get that MonoJet outta there!!! The Rochester®/GM® M-Series single-barrels have a design flaw in the fuel-bowl float pivot that occasionally lets the float cockeye, holding the inlet valve open - I learned about that flaw the hard way in the 1980's on an X-body, viz., a 1970 CHEVROLET® Nova™ (VIN starts with 113270W) with a Turbo-Thrift 230 and a Powerglide. Holley Performance should have a Model 1920 or 1940 that will bolt in, but I haven't a set o' List Numbers available atM.

Thanks for the info Bret, I appreciate it. At this time I'm not doing anything I don't need to and then only "as needed" in order of importance.

i'm gathering parts and already have a heap of goodies and have my eye out for more when they pop up. All in storage for when I commit to tear into it. Next on my list is reconditioning slotted mags that came on the '65, they are 15" so I'll be able to get "bigs and littles" in a street radial. The cragars on there now are 14" the rear size IIRC are N50...
The carb? well, it's been there working for 50 years so I figure it may hold up a little longer.
