Well that is cheaper and something you know. Can you test drive??.Is it close enough to you??.Will they allow you to take it to a mechanic you know for a inspection??.

A good friend of mine who owns a use car lot for many yrs told me once what sells more cars than anything is the shine on the hood. :)

With that many miles (approx 152k) I would be looking at how well the tranny, transfer case and diff's have been maintained. How are the brakes, tires, fuel pump etc. etc.? Is the van rust-free underneath? These are all things you will need to consider before making a low-ball offer. :yawinkle:

Too much money with that many miles for a '99.
Also a note; as good as the 4.3 is, I have two that both had the engine bearings go at exactly 136,000 miles!

holy crap.. that dealer is a rip off... i'd shop around...

i got my 99 LS a year ago for $5000 with 138km's on it.. after seeing some posts on here at the time, what i paid was even a bit high.. lol .. and it needed around $900 in work for safety (brakes all around, center link, axle seals).. didn't need anything actually expensive like idler or pitman or umm engine bearings.. :vom:

I do not know if they have any astros or safaris but if you are looking for a great price on a truck there are two auctions coming up in your area in the next few weeks... These guys sell everything, from back hoes to pick-ups to tools and tents....and always at great prices... This is my favourite auction out of all the auctions I frequent

http://www.rbauction.com/index.jsp?type ... PAodAyGIIw

I have a friend that buys construction equipment from them on a regular basis... the the auction company pays to fly him and a guest in to any auction worldwide they want to attend and pays the hotel... talk about service...

you can also bid online.. the pick up trucks are usually great deals... I am going to be bidding online on a couple of them in Edmonton next week... If I am a winner I will have to take a drive threw sask on the way back! There is one in Regina the following week aswell... but the edmonton one has some nice stuff. If you sign up (free) you can look at previous results aswell to get an idea of what stuff is selling for.
