Holy fuel pump prices!

Post by potskie »

Had to get a fuel pump today. It's over 700 bucks list price!! thankfully I got it at a deep discount through family so my cost was only about 370. Still tho that's freaking insane I tell ya.

Yeah, quality pumps aren't cheap. Both my vans had theirs replaced recently. I put a Delphi unit in Green, got it from http://www.getgmparts.com/ for $260 w/ $15 shipping. Grumpy got a no-name $30 assembly rebuild kit from Global Auto on eBay. Both vans are working quite well now. We'll see how long the cheapie pump lasts.

Mines a 98 I guess I should have mentioned that. The pump and sender are one unit post 96.
Ihatemybike ... I'm canadian so even at that price it comes out to about the same as what I paid after shipping and the crazy border crossing fees. I feel sorry for the people who have to pay list price.

Hey Crash what have you guys got em listed at where you work?

If any of you Canadians want parts from the US. Check the price to ship to US 60101 and then to where you are. If I can help you guys by reshipping person to person I will.

When I got one from the dealer last year it was about 900 CDN retail and I think I paid 400 or so. Still a lot of money for what it is, but hopefully it will last. At least it was a pretty easy job since the old pump still worked, just wouldnt build pressure fast enough to start the motor. I was able to drain the tank with the pump so it was dry when i lowered it down.

Yeah, I got lucky too. Green was in need of a fill up when that one died. Grumpy had about 23 gallons in it, but the pump worked enough to pump the fuel out and into Green.
