got side swiped in the 93 yesterday morning..

no big damage, only the mirror but, here's the short story...

taking my son to school around 820 am. around the corner from my place it a residental one way street (wide enough to be a 2 way). we stop at a mailbox in front of a church. right up against the right side curb. son deposits letter in said box and buckles his seatbelt.
i check left side mirror before proceeding and see 3 vehicles approaching from the rear. first one a green safari van, second not sure, last a white sunfire.

I see the safari getting bigger and bigger in my drivers side mirror and I think oh sh.. that's all I had time to think and BANG! off goes my drivers side mirror... shattering.

as soon as the 3 car goes by I proceed to go after the safari that didn't appear to be stopping. until he must have realized I was coming and before the next stop sign, 500 - 600 yards later he pulls over. he was in his mid 50's I'd guess.

I was umm.. did you not see me or something? his only reply was "I must have misjudged how close I was" and "I'll pay for it" .......... holy crap buddy.. the road is wide enough for one parked vehicle on the side and nearly two others can get by side by side... shhhhhhheeesh!!!

some people.. got his name address and number and drivers licence #

tomorrow... you'll get the update on the kid in the somoma that showed me a hand gun as he sped by me after tailgating me in the 99 tonight. on this one I notified the police. keep in mind I'm in Canada where we don't have the right to bear arms.

Sorry to hear, but atleast he pulled over! Same situation happened to me too! Though my Safari's mirror was hit by an Astro in my case, vise versa for you. No damage to my mirror though. Cousins saw it happen. The guy in the Astro never stopped even after running down the street after him. But, I know he lives around the corner from me!

you could be right... she's dripping a little bit of oil from one of the cooler lines right where it goes into the rad...

Crash your 93 got a kiss alright!
Hope all goes well in repairing that mirror. Hopefully the driver will be more carefully next time. What if that was SOMEONE's body / hand or whatever.

As for the idiot with the handgun I hope you follow through with that with the police. Things like that should not be taking lightly. Heck here in BC I was pulled over when my brother had his paintball mask (mirrored) on and was cleaning the barrel of the marker. We were promptly pulled over.
We need more folks on duty and to remove some of their restrictions to hope out. Again this past weekend a teenager dead from a knife slashing on a campground.

I'm dropping by the gentlemans (swirvin driver) house tonight with the quote for a new mirror.

As for the gun incident I did call it in and the police took the full statement. It's a small town, if I see this guys truck around again the police will get the full plate and not just a partial I was able to provide while swirving and speeding away from said alledged gun waver.
