i finished up the new rear axle the other night, and i've been running the van around the house. 5 miles here, there, etc.
i'm getting a very bad stumble in first gear, and it's oddly similar to the misfiring i dealt with back in the winter.
should i be worried that the van now wants to shift into second at 30 mph, and will downshift to what i think is second or first gear at any speed? the fluid does not smell burnt. the trans did not shift like this before.
when the van lunched the old axle, i had filled the tank. i'm guessing that the stumbling is from the 3 month old fuel?
i'm going to put a fuel filter on the van sunday and run some injector cleaner through the system to see what happens.
it felt great to drive the van though. now to get the little things sorted.
it's back on four wheels.
