GE Nighthawk Vision Headlights

Had a set of bargain brand headlights that just were'nt cutting it along these
backcountry roads I travel at night, so I did some research and decided to try some Nighthawk vision headlights, all I can say is HUGE DIFFERENCE.
Now, I do lose a little road distance both on low and high beam ( i'm gonna guessetimate approx 1/3 ) BUT, the amount that it lights up the sides of the road is amazing, this for me is important as deer are a major hazard
Parts Source has them for $58can (includes tax) this week

Cool. I paid around $ 40 for some Xenon imitations for the low beams and the lights are whiter, but I dunno if they're actually any better. Sounds like you scored!

We sell the nitehawks at my shop. Lot's of people that have had silverstars in the past and tried these said the nitehawks were better. I can't speak personally, just pass on the feedback. What size does yours use zam .. the sealbeam or have you done a conversion?

Rob, I have the old style sealed beam, mine are the 6054 size.
One interesting thing I found out about the silverstars, evidently there is the Parent company in Europe ( Osram ) that owns Sylvania, this company also makes a light called silver stars, but they are evidently slightly different ( and better ) than the silverstars made by Silvania over here

I've delt with a lot of European DOT parts and their standards are a lot different. I've put headlights on my 93 Caprice 9c1, the U.S. models were plastic composites with a milky lens, and the European ones were clear glass. The only prob I had was that the beam pattern was set up for left lane driving so I had to adjust the beams a lot. Same thing on my porsche I used to have and on my motorcycles. Other than that they seemed to be more powerful due to the faster speeds over there, so your not overdriving your headlights.
