Going to pick up an 98 Safari SLX on Friday. Has a ton of miles, around 237,000, but runs and shifts good. Has a new battery and alternator as well. The only problem is the rear end is trashed. I just happen to have parts to fix her up.

Body is rusty along the bottom but otherwise it isn't too bad. Needs a good cleaning. My plan for this van is to fix it up so it runs and drives good and then re-sell and hopefully put a few bucks back in the bank.

flip a couple stro's and you'll be able to find "THE ONE" and make another monster that we can all be jealous of again

You have GOT to tint the windows if you plan on keeping it any length of time.

LOL Well I don't plan to keep very long at all. At this point I am not even planning on registering it. I hope to sell as soon as she is fixed and cleaned.

Well...I am not a Safari owner. The van was just too far gone. No engine oil on the dipstick at all. The trans fluid was as black as engine oil with 5,000 miles on it and it was burnt for sure! Then he started it up and surprisingly it was real smooth running. I looked under and notice a puddle of fuel spraying out. All the brake and fuel lines were trashed and there was sludge for antifreeze. It just goes to show you how tough these things are!
