I have a couple of seats that I bought out of a wrecked 2000 Astro, each seat has a small issue.
The drivers side seat arm rst will not stay in the proper down position, like the stopper for it is messed up, how do you get these arm rests off off so I can look for the problem?
The passenger side seat is stuck in one position and the side lever that you pull to get the seat to recline does not seem to be "pulling" enough to release the seat. I have looked at the cable assembly in the seat and there appears to be too much slack in the cable so that when the lever is pulled both sides of the seat do not release and the seat cannot be reclined. I cannot see any way to adjust the lever or cable to correct this.
I'm not too dissapointed since I only paid $100 for the pair and the fabric and foam are all in good condition, plus I got the slide out storage tray that goes under one of the seats. And these seats are much better than the two old seats that were in the van.

What Zam said is correct for the older seats, but not for my '97 or probably for your 2000. I asked about this a fair time back on this site, Check Here for more information. Several pages in it speaks about how to get them off the later models. I got mine off, but can't get them back on. :(
