ABS Brake Lights on

Hi guys,

I need help with my ABS. The ABS lights are on all time (is not intermittent) and my brakes are stiff when I push the brake. Do I need to change the module? If yes, How much are they? Would you please help my to fix this?

First step would be to remove ABS fuse and see if that helps.

Next step, search here for EBCM / ABS repair. The module is repairable, by you with some soldering skills or $60-$100 by an EBCM repair specialist. You can still drive van with EBCM removed.

While Stroverlander is correct, it may be beneficial to know what kind of problems you're having prior to fixing different pieces of the system.

What if the problem is an ABS wheel sensor? Control Module? Blown fuse to the EBCM?

The the van to an AutoZone, Advanced Auto, O'Reilly Auto...you get the idea...and borrow a code scanner that will read ABS codes (not all will!).

I bought one and have used it on several vehicles in the family now so for me, it was a great investment as a tool.

Figure out WHAT is wrong before you go changing parts or it can get expensive in a hurry!

I agree it's worth getting the ABS codes scanned, when I checked mine none of auto parts stores had scanners/readers for ABS codes, maybe they do now. I found a shop that scanned mine for free which was decent of them and found a C0265 along with a few other codes including one for right front wheel speed sensor.

The wheel speed sensors tested fine on my van and when the EBCM repair tech gave me the sheet with the stored codes and what was cleared with the repair service, I asked about the wheel sensor code. He did say that a C0265 / faulty EBCM module can incorrectly set codes for a faulty wheel speed sensor which will resolve itself with the EBCM repair/solder.

The link provided ^ provides info for testing wheel speed sensors, abs pump motor, etc and is definitely worth troubleshooting first.
