I need to remove the passenger front door from a salvage van at the junk yard and was wondering what the best approach is as I know the spring is a concern.
I have a cordless sawzall.
I assume the pin is removed somehow?
Any insight would be appreciated.
TIA

Re: Removing door from salvage van.
Look at a replacement pin at the auto parts store, pretty simple , once you see it up close you'll figure it out. 2 pins per door.
have a helper hold the door and you pop the pins, spring is not a concern coming out. Going back in,,,
Buy the compression tool. Six bucks?

Re: Removing door from salvage van.
Tools:
Small needle nose vice grips,
a long extension for a 1/4 drive socket,
Hammer.
Squeeze the clip with the vicegrip, use the extension and the hammer to tap the pin out while the vice grip squeezez the clip.
Dont even worry about removing the spring, you could just grab it with the vice grips, and pull, or if it isnt in the way, it will just fall out when you remove the doore. Like said, its putting the spring back that is a concern but can be done without the compressor tool. I have done 3.
