Thanks a lot Steve. I really appreciate that. Originally being from the midwest, I can't get enough of the mountains out here.

Matty, we will hook up for a ride in your neck of the woods ( or should I say shrub steppe).

TLessB, those are great shots. Thanks for posting them. it's always cool to see all the different angles of Mt Baker. From Mt Cheam is the most I've seen it look like the volcanoe that it is. On a ride two weekends ago we could look down onto Cultus Lake and staright across to Vedder Mt. WHen I moved out here, I thought it was odd that everyone wanted to call Mt McKinley by it's native name Denali, but it's not popular to use Komo Kulshan instead of Mt Baker. Not that I care one way or another, just thought it was oddly inconsistant. Have you eve noticed that?

Gary thats a pretty big thing to say, thanks a ton.

As usual, awesome pictures Tom.
If it's clear out I get to look at Baker all day. If it's "really" clear out I can see Mt. Rainier and the Olympic Mountain range all at the same time.

Wow, considering where you are thats pretty impressive. Every now and then when you see it, think that I may be ride around down in front of it. :)

The Olympics are always fascinating to see, and of course Rainier is quite majestic.

Hey, cut that out! Canucks aren't allowed to look at OUR mountain! :muhaha:

Seriously though, that is a great view looking our direction.

We just need to go a bit more west and we can be back up in the trees. I took my dad for a drive a couple of weeks ago and found a whole new area of State Land to explore on the west side of N. Wenas/Ellensburg Rd.

I've heard both McKinley and Denali used, but I think Komo Kulshan is far more interesting than Baker, so thanks for little bit of trivia.

Here's a few from the glacier:
