Another camping trip

Post by Fire Cakes »

Dean the kids and I went camping at Lake Bluff from Friday Sept 11 - Sunday Sept 13. Ben's birthday was on Sat so it was just a nice little get away for us and him. He had a ball bouncing around on his pogo stick and even bounced over 1,000 times in succession. Pics of the trip to follow shortly.
Gearing up for another great camping season :) Camper is re packed and ready to roll.

IT is weird ... they want more productivity so they block some photo sites like photobucket but not flickr... and yet facebook and youtube is still allowed. OKay BLAH.

Yeah it was fairly empty. Lots of the seasonals were still there. We are going camping there again this weekend and next weekend too. I know next weekend (Columbus Day) is pretty booked up, it is a popular weekend to camp and one of the last long weekends before the campground closes on Halloween. Look for pics later.

We have two more camp-outs planned. First on the 16-18th of Oct (guys weekend getaway) and then 23-25 for a halloween campout. We might camp once in November as well weather permitting.

well it POURED on Friday so everything was nothing but a great soggy mess and it was quite chilly out so we bagged the camping idea for this past weekend. We are definitely going Columbus Day weekend as that trip is already paid for. I will post pics of that when we get back.

We're back!

Temps were in the mid to upper 40's during the day and low 40's at night. Thankfully we have heat! :D Rain on Friday and sunshine Saturday and Sunday. Friday night after dinner we celebrated Jessie's birthday with ice cream cake.

For dinner we did sandwich steak with peppers, onions and mushrooms and zucchini and tomatoes with seasoning all over the campfire.

Turns out Ben was sick so Sunday's corn maze was in question. He ended up going and we broke into 3 teams. Team 1 was Darrel and Liz. Team 2 was Jessie and Lynne's parents and Lynne , Ben and I made up team 3. The maze is located at Long Acre Farms in Macedon, NY. The 5 acre corn maze theme was "Sound of Music"

The rules are simple...collect all 12 map pieces and finish before anyone else. Guess what team won?
