Now, this is a pretty heavy wire so I didn't want to run it straight through the little toggle switch I had. I ran the starter...

Re: Swapping 1988 Astrovan to 98-02 F-Body LS1
......... but I'm not so sure about the A/C compressor which is low on the passenger side on the LS (at least on the truck versions). Then you have to covert the van to an electronic throttle or the LS to a cable throttle body........ I know there are aftermarket accessory drive systems for the LS ...

Re: R12 or R134A?
Yes, that's what I've been hearing as well. My project is finished. The AC is working! I kept it R12, but I installed a condenser from a '94 van because I found they are more efficient. I also installed an electric pusher fan on the front of the condenser to help with airflow. The air temperature ou...

Re: R12 or R134A?
My research agrees that they started using 134 in 1994 vans. I know mine is R12, I am researching possible upgrades to the system since I am planning to get the AC working again.
I'll keep you guys posted.

Re: Floor Mats Recommendation needed?
I have the rubbertite from Lloyd mats, the one you mentioned in the first post. I have the one-piece front mat and I'm super happy with it. It's not a totally perfect fit, but it does fit way better than I expected. It is very slightly wider than it should be between the front seats, and I think tha...

Re: Totalled???
I agree with the others, it looks like it can be repaired without too much trouble. Now, is it worth fixing? That is a question only you can answer. If the insurance totals it then the answer, by straight numbers and practicality, is no. But having been through this with my own van recently, I know ...
