Re: Hello from Haarlem, Holland!
Yes hello and welcome Congratulations on finding the van you’ve sought after. It’s a fine looking specimen. The 4.3 is a very stout engine and it takes a lot to kill them. It doesn’t take much to make them not run however. Thirty year old spark plugs, wires, cap and rotor will do that. Original coil...

Re: Fuel Pump no Pressure----- GAWD-super lost
*****Update****** My issue was the wiring to the new connector... the diagrams in the pics (6 of them) were all incorrect. They had the grey and orange/black switched. Up and running.... grateful for this forum. Wow that would burn my biscuits!! Bad enough doing that job once but having to do it mo...

Re: Detroit Axle hubs
Something inside the hub gave up the ghost. Pretty sure they’re original equipment so they don’t owe me a thing. Not a lot of play but it’s making noise. Louder when turning left or going fast so I’ll just go slow and turn right

Detroit Axle hubs
I was getting up to speed on a sweeping entrance ramp when something popped. It seems as though the right side AWD hub has failed. I called around to my LAPS and looked online. Amazon had a unit from Detroit Axle. I run Detroit Axles in my van so I went to their website. I bought a pair of hubs for ...

Re: Encoder motor maintenance
I LOVE TRUETRAC!!! 4.10 re-gear sounds nice. I’ve got the 3.73’s which work pretty good. Maybe one day I’ll lift the van high enough to fit 33”s and will re-gear with 4.56’s 😬 Or just enjoy what I have and stop looking for ways to finally find out just how far you can go before it blows up in your f...

Encoder motor maintenance
The last couple of weeks I’ve been getting the dreaded clicking from the tccm on startup. This hasn’t been every day and the service light has also been occasional. The weather is calling for a Nor’easter on Wednesday so I figured I’d take a look. Dropped the front prop shaft and pulled the encoder ...

Re: Can I use a 226 transfer case
The 226 was used in the Envoy and Trailblazers which both used the 4l60e tranny I believe. As far as I know it hasn’t been done in an ASV swap. Three things come to mind when looking to try this. First will be the driveshafts. Second time I’ll be mounting to the transmission. Will it bolt up or is t...

Re: looking for info for 1st gen AWD to 4x4 swap
The 231 is a good choice. Utilitarian its make up. You can order parts Like wider chain and six planet vs. three planet bits to beef it up to HD standards. When I put the cast iron front diff under mine it still had the S-10 prop shaft flange on to. I swapped it out with the Astro style with no issu...
