Re: My Van-Bed
Yeah, sorry it is slow to load. I am using my own computer as a web server (which is really convenient)...but don't have all that fast of an upload speed. But, I love this setup. I have been using this for at least three weeks and sleep in it all week long instead of paying for a hotel room. Saves a...

My Van-Bed
OK guys, finally got around to taking some pictures of this thing. Here is a link to the pictures: Astro Bed . In total it cost about $100 to make...probably less. I basically just used 2x2 pine. I also used some brackets from the fencing/deck section at home depot to put it all together. Make sure ...

LaGrasta,
Are you running full synthetic fluids? This will make a difference. I am also running a K&N air filter which is supposed to increase MPG and HP.

Re: Which is worse? The Lift or the Tires?
Currently making that drive for work. Usually come down sunday night, then head home friday when work is finished. Pretty soon I will be moving to and working in Missouri though. But for now I sleep in me wonderful van all week long! I will have to post some pics of the bed I made and put in there. ...

Re: Which is worse? The Lift or the Tires?
WVKayaker, Some other things could be adding to my gas mileage...such as the fact that I do run my BFG's at the max rated pressure and they have nitrogen in them. I am also running full synthetic fluids in my van (AMSOil)...except for the Autotrak II in the transfer case. I still have the stock diff...

Re: Which is worse? The Lift or the Tires?
I've been getting 19-20 MPG mixed driving on my 'stro. I have the 4" lift and big BFG ATs. I also use the Hypertech Energy Max to tell the computer what tire size I have, and it is supposed to improve my mileage too.

Re: How to Change tire size to fix speedo
Just wanted to mention I got the hypertech energy max. This thing is great. I was able to adjust my tire size, so the speedo is pretty darn accurate now. I have also been having a fun time messing with my shift points and what not. It is also great to be able to read my own codes and clear them when...

Re: Limited slip differential
Thanks for the bump ZAm. I looked into it and the two are really similar. But, yours is definitely the better pic for everyday driving. Live and learn I guess.

Re: Q about Sofa/Sleeper bench seat
Archiev, do you have a conversion van or a regular Astro? And why did you have to put it in through the slider? Wouldn't anything that fits through the slider also fit through the back end? Did this go in place of the front or rear bench? What year dodge was it out of? Why did you replace yours with...

Peter, do you have one of those? If so, what is the exact model so that I can be sure it will work?

Re: Limited slip differential
No Problem. I had to learn the hard way unfortunately. *Note - I often write my posts as though I am my dad, since this is his van and I have been helping with all this work on it and it is much easier to explain things as though I were him. However, I am but a wee 22 yr old and would now like to ta...

Re: Limited slip differential
Don't waste your money on the Powertrax Lock Right!...unless you aren't going to drive that van on the highway. I've had it in there for about a year and could never figure out why my Astro liked to wander so much on the highway. Well, to make a long story short...It was the lock right, which I pull...
