Re: Gotta change the differential fluid...
SUCCESS!!!! I got the fill plug out today, and without the use of heat. I don't know why I didn't think of it before #-o My son had been messin' with my tools yesterday, when he pulled out the 36" breaker bar and started swinging it around like a bat. This morning I grabbed my 1/2" to 3/8&...

Re: Gotta change the differential fluid...
Well, I am certainly glad to see that I'm not the only one with this problem!! I'm going to try the propane torch later today or sometime this weekend. Hopefully it will be enough. On the subject of how nasty the fluid is, you think it smells bad, try tasting it sometime!! :vom: :vom: Several years ...

Re: Gotta change the differential fluid...
Thanks for the responses guys. My main concern was whether I had to buy a special square socket, because when I was using the extension, it didn't feel like it was seating all the way in the plug. I thought it might be because of the check ball on the side of the extension. While the impact wrench w...

Gotta change the differential fluid...
I was planning on changing the differential fluid today (something I haven't done since owning the van) But I went to remove the fill plug and I could not. Now it looks like it is just a 3/8" square cap screw. Do I need to buy a square drive socket, or could I just use a 3/8" extension? I ...

Re: Junkyard shopping. And a question.
Well, it seems that I didn't think this through fully before I got these seats. I had the foresight to get the seat belt connectors (where the seat belt snaps into) However the seat belt for the rear bench is attached to the bench on the drivers side and on the passengers side there is an extra latc...

Just a quart low, It's no big deal.....
I'm sure this will be very obvious to most of you, but I just recently (yesterday in fact) realized how big a deal running a quart of oil low really is. All of my previous vehicles only had idiot lights in them, so I was really happy when I saw the astro had an oil pressure guage in it. But I always...

Junkyard shopping. And a question.
I went junkyard shopping today. I was looking for a full size spare and a couple of captains chairs to replace the 2nd row bench. I was disappointed at the 1st yard I went to (which I drove 1 1/4 hours to get to) I get there and they wouldn't let me in because I had my son with me. (they have a &quo...

I believe Larry and Darren are on to something here... Perhaps this would make a good location for the next Florida get together.

Camping noob needs suggestions / guidance
Ok, so I am completely new to camping. The last time I went camping was when I was 11 with our church group. Now I'm 33 and have a 4 year old son, and I think this would be something different we could do. But I'm clueless.. So, what are some camping essentials? Outside of a tent, what are some thin...

Re: removing the slider door for maintenance
Hey thanks for that link water boy. You mentioned that the slider would never "pop" open that you had to pull the rear corner. Did that fix the problem? I also have to pull the corner to get the door open. Thanks for the responses guys. hopefully I'll get this done soon. I'll let you know ...

removing the slider door for maintenance
Ok, so I've been having a few issues with my slider lately. Nothing too serious yet, but I wanted to fix it before the problems get worse. The problems? 1) When it gets "Florida" cold ( 50*F or below), it becomes much harder to slide. I'm not sure of the solution to this, but I would imagi...

That's a pretty cool wheel, kinda goes with the paint scheme... I don't know where you can find it cheaper though...

Re: belt tensioner && fan!
1) how hard is the tensioner and possibly the bracket to change? cant the shroud just be removed? It's not too hard to change, it's pretty straight forward. It's just frustrating trying to get your hands in there. Removing the shroud will give you a bit more room to move around, but you CAN do it w...
