Re: My Hemi Dodge - Built From the Ground Up!
Very nice! But c'mon, no spark plug wires? Get some sewing thread and dab the ends in glue. Easy and makes all the difference.

Re: 4l60e
I would imagine that the donor trans would be OK as well. The majority of Blazers are 4WD though. If so it will not work unless you take the trans apart and swap the output shaft and tail housing.

Re: My sons 94 project
We got a little more done today. Pulled the subframe and exhaust out. Hoping to be able to use the stock y-pipe with the stock manifolds on the 92 g van donor motor. Looks doable so far. We'll see. http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b299/lockdoc/BillV%2094%20Astro%20Project/BillVproject004.jpg http:/...

Re: 4l60e
The 4L60E is the same basically across the board but they are year specific also. There is the 93-94. Then the 95. The 96..... After 96 I'm not sure which ones cross with each other. I purchased my parts from many different vendors. Whichever had the parts I wanted the cheapest. The most I ever spen...

Re: 2005 Astro - Ruff Idle / Runs Rich / V-6 0 any ideas?
EGR is under the throttle body assy. 2 ten mil. bolts and a plug. they clog and you have to clean now and then on the 95's. Done mine 3 times in 8 years.. If you weren't performing the Thorazine shuffle you would see that he has a 2005, not a 1995. Dumbass! :butthead: And you wonder why the white s...

Re: LM7 vortec 5300 into a 92 TBI?
i had a 2001 vortec 5300 in my 96 for a while. for mounting what you do is pick up the astro v8 mounts and the LS to SBC mount adapters and stack them. bolt the LS to SBC adapters to the block, then the astro v8 adapters on top, and it bolts right in. the truck pan works but needs a little clearanc...

Re: whining sound when in gear
I had the exact same symptoms after I rebuilt a transmission in my van once. Turned out to be the torque converter. Only made the noise under load. Park and Neutral were normal. I would think the pump would make the noise in all selections.

Certainly sounds like the fuel pump. Unfortunately I don't know exactly how your pump works in order to answer about the sudden drop to 0.

Just for you Dunedog. It's funny you mentioned the dogs. The whole time Bill was trying to take pics he was trying to shew them away. I told him they are trademarks in my pics! This is Faith's pup Abbey. She's 6 months. Unfortunately as of yesterday there is some sad news with the dogs that I'm not ...

My sons 94 project
My oldest kid learned to drive in an Astro, his first and only car has been an Astro. He has pretty much killed his van and wanted another one. So he he bought a decent condition 94 TBI Astro for $550. The engine has 200K and runs rough so we decided to replace it. Found a decent 350 TBI with all th...

Yup. It's a repeat, repeat. A lot of us saw it built on the TV show.
